We act for executors, beneficiaries, solicitors and estate administrators, helping many clients each year with this service – so we can offer you an experienced and efficient solution, at what can often be a difficult and stressful time.

We can provide probate valuations for houses, flats, bungalows and land.
Our service includes a property visit, suitable market research, and a written follow-up letter (posted, or as a PDF by email) for you to keep and use as part of your probate application.
All valuation figures are thoughtfully considered and well researched, to provide HMRC-compliant figures, as well as reassurance for our clients.
Is an estate agent’s valuation suitable?
For many probate applications, an estate agent’s valuation is suitable for HMRC and Inheritance Tax purposes, rather than having to pay for a RICS ‘red book’ surveyor’s report.
The caveat is that the estate agent should be suitably competent, and the valuation should be accurate, justified and correctly formatted. Our probate valuations meet these criteria.
In rare cases – where an estate is particularly large, complex or contested – a formal RICS valuation may be required. We can advise you, and put you in touch with a local RICS surveyor. (We don’t charge for referrals, and we don’t take referral fees.)
If you need other specialist valuations – for example cars, antiques, jewellery, art or collections – we can put you in touch with other local specialists.
